The Devon Valley Hotel in the famous Stellenbosch winelands has been managing Seasons, the Restaurant at The House of JC le Roux, for over two years and has recently been awarded another five year contract.
The House of JC le Roux is the first cellar in South Africa dedicated entirely to the craft of making fun loving sparkling wines and vintage Cap Classiques. Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Devon Valley, the tasting area at The House of J.C. le Roux was recently transformed after a major refurbishment. It boasts a chic new oyster bar, the elegant Scintilla lounge for private tastings, a funky wine shop, a colourful contemporary fresh space in which to experience the full range of J.C. Le Roux bubblies.
For the next four months Seasons Restaurant will enjoy the same glamorous transformation to make exciting changes that will literally raise the roof of this stylish venue. Already boasting stunning décor from the soft golden hues of the La Vallée Room to the flirty pink La Fleurette Room visitors to the newly renovated House of J.C. Le Roux can expect an even more uplifting experience that will be unveiled for the festive season.
New additions will also include an al fresco deck equipped with build-in-barbeque stations to facilitate live cooking on balmy days. Seasons offers classic, uncomplicated food with the emphasis on simplicity, goodness and above all, taste.
Chef Markus Schwemberger heads the kitchen brigades at the Devon Valley Hotel and Seasons restaurant. With his classic yet unpretentious style and an inevitable European influence, Austrian-born Markus relishes in creating chic country fare at Seasons that draws on fresh, seasonal ingredients with clean, contemporary tastes and bold flavours. Oysters, sushi and bubbly are perfect taste partners and accordingly take pride of place on the new Seasons lunch menu.
The new menu will focus on dishes which combine the finest, fresh ingredients to provide taste sensations that will perfectly compliment the range of JC Le Roux sparkling and MCC wines. JC le Roux has won numerous awards and accolades for their wines, made under the watchful eye of master winemaker Elunda Basson.
